Services and Architectures for Advanced Networks Research team

The Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique (CNRS) participates in the project ENDEAVOUR through one Joint Research Units (JRU), the Laboratoire d'Analyse et d'Architecture des Systèmes (LAAS - UPR 8001), Toulouse, France. A CNRS unit may be solely established and managed by CNRS or together with one or more other legal entities. CNRS and the other partners pool financial, material and/or human resources on a specific field. Such a unit is hosted in the premises of one of the parent legal entities. Staff is assigned to it by the parent entities. Staffs from CNRS, Université Paul Sabatier (UPS) Toulouse III, and Institut National des Sciences Appliquées (INSA) of Toulouse, are involved in the project. The field of research of the LAAS is related to five main areas, namely: automatic control, computer science, microelectronics, production control, and robotics. 22 teams, supported by technological, logistical and administrative departments, conduct these activities. LAAS is present or has been present within many European projects as ESPRIT, EUREKA, CHM, DRIVE, TEMPUS, ERASMUS, COMETT, BRITE, ITEA, COST and IST. Established in 1967, Laboratoire d’Analyse et d’Architecture des Systemes (LAAS) is a laboratory of CNRS, the French National Organization for Scientific Research. It is associated with three university institutions in Toulouse: UPS, INSA, and INP. LAAS has a permanent staff of over 320, together with (on average) 260 doctorate students. Research at LAAS covers Automatic Control, Computer Science and Engineering, and Microelectronics. LAAS will be represented by the “SARA research team”. SARA research team’s work addresses new generation networks and communicating systems and their applications. SARA’s research studies address the design, the planning, the deployment management, and the monitoring of networks.
